Fact Sheet

World-Wide Concurrent Premieres and Commissioning Fund, Inc., is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the creation and performance of new musical works by composers and performers on a world-wide basis.

How It Works

World-Wide Concurrent Premieres and Commissioning Fund, Inc., as an organization, empowers solo performers, chamber musicians and even is some cases orchestras (and all on every level from community, college or professional levels) with the ability to commission works without massive fund-raising efforts by the individuals or organizations. With a relatively small registration fee (usually $100-$500), paid directly to WWCPCF, Inc., a certain number of performers or organizations (anywhere from 5-150) may premiere the work of a chosen composer on the same night, world-wide. For instance, up to 100 saxophonists could have performed the world-premiere of Pulitzer Prize winning composer John Harbison’s Sonata in 100 different locations, on the same night, in December, 1995.

WWCPCF, Inc. handles all the administration, registration, contacts and contracts with composers, publishers and performers, including providing performers with limited edition scores (hand numbered and signed by the composer) and parts in ample time to prepare for performance.

Who Benefits

Performers, both emerging and established gain the benefit of a world premiere without the fund raising responsibilities.
Performance dates are established (as much as 1-2 years in advance in some cases) so that performers or organizations are able to secure the best possible performance venue for public visibility.

Composers and publishers, both emerging and established, will gain world-wide visibility (and audibility!), with the knowledge that their music will be seen and heard by both the public and the finest performers in their respective fields.
The public will continue to enjoy, appreciate and hear new art, which becomes just as accessible in Seabrook, Texas as London or Paris.
This is a grass-roots organization offering maximum benefit to all who participate. There are no hidden fees or additional costs. In fact, in the case of emerging composers, performance awards may be offered to composers or performers to aid the production of world-wide concurrent premieres.

World-Wide Concurrent Premieres and Commissioning Fund, Inc. offers a unique opportunity for performers, composers and publishers to work together. This is a one-of-a-kind organization, founded by performers, and with an active Board of Directors, made up of composers, conductors, performers and publishers, offering a profound dedication to the future of exploration and continuation of the art of music.
